Perth

The sun-soaked capital of Western Australia

Perth, the sun-soaked capital of Western Australia, beckons with its unique blend of urban sophistication and laid-back charm. Situated on the banks of the picturesque Swan River and framed by the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean, Perth offers a captivating mix of natural beauty, cultural richness, and outdoor adventures. With its Mediterranean climate and endless blue skies, Perth boasts some of Australia’s most stunning beaches. From the iconic sands of Cottesloe to the tranquil shores of Rottnest Island, beach lovers can bask in the sun, surf the waves, or simply unwind against the backdrop of crystal-clear waters and golden sands.

But Perth is more than just sun and surf – it’s also a vibrant hub of culture and creativity. The city’s burgeoning arts scene is showcased in its world-class museums, galleries, and theatres, where visitors can immerse themselves in Aboriginal art, contemporary exhibitions, and theatrical performances that reflect the diverse tapestry of Australian culture. For those with a taste for adventure, Perth offers a gateway to the rugged beauty of the Australian outback. From exploring the ancient landscapes of the Pinnacles Desert to encountering native wildlife in the lush forests of the Margaret River region, outdoor enthusiasts can embark on unforgettable journeys that reveal the raw, untamed beauty of Western Australia.

And when it comes to dining and nightlife, Perth truly shines. From trendy cafes and waterfront restaurants to buzzing bars and chic rooftop lounges, the city’s culinary scene is a vibrant tapestry of flavours and experiences that cater to every palate and preference. But perhaps Perth’s greatest allure lies in its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, where locals greet strangers with a smile and every corner invites exploration. Whether you’re wandering through the historic streets of Fremantle, admiring the city skyline from Kings Park, or simply soaking up the laid-back vibe along the Swan River, Perth offers a warm embrace that leaves a lasting impression on all who visit.

Elizabeth Quay

Celebrating Perth’s love affair with the Swan River, Elizabeth Quay (Goomup) is transforming the foreshore into a free playground for all ages to enjoy the city’s active lifestyle, abundant sunshine, amazing views, alfresco dining, outdoor markets and lively festival scene.

There are so many ways to get to and from the quay. Catch a train to Elizabeth Quay station or a bus to Elizabeth Quay bus port. Ride Perth’s free CAT bus, or get a taxi to and from Barrack Street Jetty – right beside the iconic Bell Tower.

Fremantle Markets

With more than 150 stalls, the Fremantle Markets are a weekend must-visit for locals and tourists in Perth. Whether you’re a regular market-goer or a first timer, there is something to eat and marvel at for just about everyone. Wander the aisles filled with weird, wacky and wonderful products, then make your way to the yard where you’ll be seriously overwhelmed with the food options on offer. After you’ve eaten your body weight in fried chicken, banh mi, souvlaki and eggy brioche sambos, grab some fresh local produce and a Levi’s hot donut for the road.
