Durban is the third most populous city in South Africa with a population of nearly 4 million people. The city had a major makeover in the lead up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup which saw it’s waterfront reinvigorated and the world-class Moses Mabhida 56,000 seater stadium built for the tournament. The city has a unique Afro-Indian culture with a large Indian population residing here which gives it a fascinating vibe and the unmissable bunny chow, a hollowed out bread bowl filled with curry, and often using local meats like lamb and chicken. The British & Irish Lions will play their third match of the tour in Durban against the Cell C Sharks with their Kings Park Stadium being the venue.
